In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet violin applique.

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colours (254) Moon Rock, (242) Metal Grey, (162) Black Coffee, (130) Old Lace and (110) Black. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends and a pair of scissors. Cream thread and needle to embroider on the strings.
The finished size will be 12cm wide x 20cm high (5” wide x 8” high) for the larger violin, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the violin in Catona will be 11cm wide x 16cm high (4.25” wide x 6.5” high). The medium violin will be 10cm wide x 14.5cm high (4” wide x 5.75” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small violin will be 7cm wide x 10cm high (2.75” wide x 4” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
