When ABC decided to revive the NBC Mystery Movie concept, they only had one sleuth from the original: Columbo. New shows were created for Lou Gossett Jr and Burt Reynolds, and later a revived 'Kojak' with Telly Savalas. That leaves 'Christine Cromwell' (1989), a vehicle for Jaclyn Smith as a lawyer in a prestigious, high-society San Francisco firm. Four episodes aired. When ABC's Mystery Movie ended in 1990, Columbo was the only character who survived to sleuth another day (with 14 more movie-length episodes). The theme for 'Christine Cromwell' is by Lee Holdridge ('Moonlighting').
00:00 Opening titles. From episode two.
00:32 Opening titles (revised). From episode three.
01:34 End credits. (As with the revised titles above, the clip is from a European broadcast; audio has been pitch-corrected to compensate for 'PAL speed-up'.)
