One of the shows that aired on Fox Network's first Sunday night of programming, 'Duet' (1987) starred Matthew Laurance as a writer pursuing a romance with caterer Mary Page Keller. Gradually their yuppie friends (including Alison La Placa) came to play a bigger role in the storylines. After three seasons most of the cast came back in a one-season spin-off, 'Open House' (1989). Duet's flirty theme is by Detroit's Buddy Budson; in the first two seasons it was performed by Ursula Walker and Tony Franklin. Budson is a jazz pianist who's worked with Mancini, Tormé, Sammy Davis Jr, and many others. He often performs with his wife, the aforementioned Ursula Walker.
