Double play: Two minor sitcoms from that wonderful year 1997.
• 'Jenny' was a vehicle for Jenny McCarthy, playing a store clerk who receives an unexpected inheritance and heads for Hollywood. George Hamilton played the deceased dad she never knew; he appears in tv clips Jenny watches each week. Ten episodes aired in the US (in one of seven unseen shows Hamilton turns out to be not so dead after all).
• 'Soul Man' featured Dan Aykroyd as a widowed reverend with four kids and lovably quirky parishioners. The character was introduced in a backdoor pilot episode of 'Home Improvement'; the series itself ran for two seasons totaling just 25 episodes.
