'Variety' called it 'complicated but intriguing' and went out of their way to praise the sultry theme tune from Pat Williams ('Streets of San Francisco'), sung by Sue Raney. The vocals were removed when the series aired in the US (European viewers heard the original version, under the original title 'Smoldering Lust'). Tarses was incensed by NBC's treatment of his show (only five out of 13 episodes aired) and vowed never to work with them again.
