Basil entered the world in 1962 and celebrates the 60th anniversary since the start of the ‘Basil Brush Show’, watched by millions in the 1970s and 80s.
Appearing at the Glastonbury Music festival seven times, both in the Kidzfield and at his ‘Basil Brush Live and Unleashed’ show for adult kids, in 2025 Basil went viral overnight with his rendition of ‘Purple Rain’ at the Taskmaster live event.
He has hosted the Children’s Proms Concert at the Albert Hall, performed on Cruise ships around the world and his sell out ‘Unleashed’ show has been at the Edinburgh Festival three times.
After 12 years on CBBC, Basil has proved a popular contestant on quiz shows, appearing on ‘Pointless’, winning ‘The Weakest Link’ and winning ‘The Chase’ … twice. He’s proved to be a hit guest on ‘The Last Leg’, ‘Through the Keyhole, and the ‘The Generation Game’ amongst many other appearances on some of Britain’s most watched entertainment shows.
