Hello! My name is Andy. How are you?
Let's talk about the Baduy language.

Baduy is a language spoken by the Baduy people, primarily in the regions around Mount Kendeng in Banten Province, Indonesia. While there is no official writing system for Baduy, the Sundanese alphabet is used for linguistic analysis. It is often considered a separate language from Sundanese due to differences in vocabulary and cultural factors, though it is sometimes viewed as a dialect. As of 2015, there are about 11,620 native speakers. Baduy follows a subject-verb-object word order and is an agglutinative language with productive affixes. It also distinguishes between transitive and intransitive verbs, as well as active and passive forms.

The Baduy people, also known as Kanekes, are an indigenous ethnic group native to southeastern Banten, Indonesia. They primarily live in the Kanekes settlement in the foothills of the Kendeng mountains, about 40 km from Rangkasbitung. The region features hilly terrain with varied soil types and an average temperature of 20 °C. The Baduy are divided into two sub-groups: Tangtu (Inner Baduy) and Panamping (Outer Baduy). While the Inner Baduy avoid contact with outsiders, the Outer Baduy have some limited interactions with the outside world. The Baduy people believe they are descendants of Batara Cikal, a deity linked to the biblical Adam, and they see their role as maintaining the world's harmony through meditation and asceticism. The term "Baduy" comes from "baduyut," a Sundanese-Baduy word for a vine plant used as herbal medicine.

The Baduy people practice Agama Sunda Wiwitan, a religion focused on ancestral and nature worship, influenced by Hinduism and Islam. Their most sacred site is the secret Arca Domas, where annual rituals predict the year's harvest. The Baduy follow strict customs, including many taboos, and have limited contact with the outside world, though they now trade and use currency. Visitors, mainly students, are welcomed under strict rules, but non-Indonesians are not allowed in the Kanekes region.
