Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.

Special Thanks to Hassan :)

Sabaic (Sabaean) Language:
Sabaic, also known as Sabaean, is a South Arabian Semitic language once spoken in the ancient kingdom of Saba (biblical Sheba) in present-day Yemen. It belongs to the Old South Arabian language group, which also includes Minaic, Qatabanic, and Hadramitic. Sabaic was written in a distinctive script, a South Arabian alphabet similar to early Semitic alphabets, primarily inscribed on stone monuments, temple walls, and coins. The language dates from around the 8th century BCE to the 6th century CE and is known through thousands of inscriptions. It faded away following the rise of Arabic after the Islamic expansion.

Sabaean People:
The Sabaeans were an ancient Semitic people who inhabited the region of southern Arabia, mainly in what is now Yemen, and established the Kingdom of Saba. Their civilization was highly advanced for its time, known for its rich trade networks, particularly in frankincense and myrrh, which connected the region to Africa, India, and the Mediterranean. The Sabaeans are famously mentioned in the Bible and other classical texts, particularly for the wealth and splendor of the Queen of Sheba. They built elaborate irrigation systems, most notably the Marib Dam, which supported their agriculture in an otherwise arid environment.

Sabaean Culture:
The Sabaean culture was marked by its strong emphasis on trade, religion, and engineering. They were polytheistic, worshipping a pantheon of gods, with the moon god Almaqah being particularly prominent. Sabaean society was organized around a powerful monarchy that oversaw trade, agriculture, and religious practices. Their monumental architecture, such as temples, palaces, and the famed Marib Dam, reflected their engineering prowess. Sabaean art often depicted religious symbols, animals, and deities, and their inscriptions provide rich details of their legal, economic, and religious life. The Sabaean legacy continues to be a significant part of Yemen's historical identity.
