Berthoud Pass is a mountain pass along US 40 near the town of Winter Park, Colorado. It is a well known spot for backcountry skiing. On this occasion I skinned up 1200’ to the summit of Colorado Mines Peak, a twelver that hosts a weather research station used by nearby Colorado School of Mines, as well as some radio relay towers. After skiing down the peak, I headed up the west side and skied another 500' down the Mainline which had great snow condition and was not as windy
