Hello everyone once again! In today's car commercial of the past, we have a 1996 line of Dodge redesigned and introduced vehicles featured, in shall we say in a unique commercial with fitting unique music. In this commercial, the 1996 Dodge Intrepid, Dodge Ram, Dodge Stratus, Dodge Caravan, Dodge Viper, Dodge Neon, and Dodge Avenger are all featured in this commercial, which made up the whole line of Dodge vehicles in 1996. We'll take one of these vehicles, the Dodge Avenger, and get into the specifications shall we?
The 1st generation of the Dodge Avenger was a vehicle only available in 2 door coupe format. With aggressive styling from front to back, this certainly made for a tough looking exterior.
The Dodge Avenger was shared the same platform as the Eagle Talon and Mitsubishi Eclipse.
The base engine for the 1996 Dodge Avenger was a Chrysler made, Fuel Injected, 2.0 Liter, Inline 4 Cylinder, DOHC engine that produced 150 Horsepower, at 6,500 RPM with 133 LB-FT of torque at 4,800 RPM. The other optional engine offered was a Mitsubishi made 2.5 Liter, 6 cylinder, SOHC engine that produced 163 Horsepower at 170 LB-FT of torque.
The Avenger came in only Front Wheel Drive layout.
The 1996 Avenger came in two transmission types; a base 5 speed manual, or an optional 4 speed automatic transmission.
The price for the base 1996 Dodge Avenger was $14,020, which comes to about $19,970 in 2015 when adjusted for inflation. A reasonable price for a sleek 2 door coupe in 1996.
This was an aggressive looking 2 door coupe, with a tough looking stance from back to front. If you were looking for a sleek, and aggressive looking 2 door coupe with an American nameplate in 1996, then the Dodge Avenger was the vehicle for you.
