Hello everyone to another car commercial of the past! Here in todays commercial, we have a classic commercial of the 1974 Ford Mustang II. Let's get into the history and specifications of the Mustang II shall we?
Now the 1974 Ford Mustang II was the second year of the 2nd generation of the model, hence the name "Mustang II" , which lasted for a whopping 5 years, before being redesigned for the 1979 model year. Parts and components of the Mustang II was shared with the Ford Pinto of the same generation unbelievably.
Available as a coupe or three-door hatchback, the Mustang's II base engine was a 140 cubic inch (2.3 Liter) SOHC Inline-4 cylinder that produced 88 Horsepower at 118 LB-FT of torque (this engine was shared with the Ford Pinto). A 171 cubic inch (2.8 Liter) V6 was the sole optional engine for the Mustang II in 1974, that produced 115 Horsepower (this engine was German built). The Mustang II packages ranged from the base model trim "Hardtop" hatchback coupe, a "Ghia" luxury trim with vinyl roof, and the top of the line V6 powered Mach 1 sports oriented trim. An option for a 8 cylinder engine would not be available until the 1975 model year.
