On Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, KULT News paid an unannounced visit to the Board of Education Administrative Offices for the Jefferson County School District in Louisville, KY.
We were greeted by rude, seemingly paranoid people who claimed we had “2 minutes” and then had to leave.
We came back the next day and stayed for nearly 2 hours. They were NOT happy with that but they brought it on themselves.
NOTE: In editing I added a comment referencing my trepidation of auditing in Kentucky around the 2:39 mark. I wish to clarify, I am of the opinion that law enforcement in Kentucky routinely violate the rights of the citizens of the Commonwealth. While we were in Kentucky our rights were indeed violated and we encountered a cop that gave Stacey and I both the creeps, not at this location but at a different location in an audit that has not yet been posted as of this writing. -mike

Laws may vary but, generally speaking, in the United States, if you are in public you are legally able to photograph whatever you can see. Your eyes can’t be trespassed. Obviously there are some restrictions on this (i.e., bathrooms, dressing rooms, most courtrooms, locker rooms, etc.) but with very few, when you are in public, if you can see it, you can shoot it (this rule only applies to cameras.) This is not legal advice.
