On January 22, 2024. An officer from the Cudahy Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding. When the officer activated his emergency lights the driver (Amari) began to flee. The officer reached speeds in excess of 100 MPH while catching up before Amari decided to pull over. Officers conducted a high risk traffic stop; First ordering the driver to exit the vehicle, then the passenger. The Oak Creek Police Department also responded and utilized a ballistic shield to clear the vehicle, no one else was located inside. Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody for questioning. While booking the driver Amari, officers located a baggie containing a cream-colored powdery substance which later tested positive for Meth. Amari was found guilty for Fleeing or Eluding an Officer, and Possession of Methamphetamine. He was sentenced to two years in prison, 48 months of probation, and ordered to pay a $1036 fine. The female passenger was released without any charges.
