On March 24, 2024. A Deputy from the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle whose driver had a revoked license. The deputy made contact with the driver (Nichole) who admitted to knowing her license was revoked, she also said that she was on probation for a prior drug charge. Nichole agreed to sit in the deputy's vehicle while he ran her information and questioned her. It was determined that Nichole was supposed to have an Ignition Interlock Device in her vehicle which was not installed. When asked what was in her vehicle, Nichole admitted to having a THC vape and gummy inside. Nichole was then informed that she would be placed under arrest for driving after revoked and failure to install Ignition Interlock Device. The deputy searched the vehicle and located the THC vape and gummy. He also located a tube containing a white powder which later tested positive for cocaine. A female officer arrived and was able to perform a better search of Nichole before being transported to jail. She was found guilty for Possession of Cocaine. She was sentenced to 24 months of probation, and ordered to pay a $538 fine.
