There is nothing more disheartening than to be excited about a video you create, then have the views be at 1 or 2. So why did no one watch it?
The problem is most likely not the video content itself because, well, no one got that far.
The problem lies in targeting. You simply missed your audience.
This can happen in a couple ways – so here’s how you troubleshoot. First, go back to the goal of your video, who did you want to watch it? If the answer is “I don’t know, “ there’s your problem. You need to know who your audience is before you can get them to watch your video.
If you know who your audience is, then ask, where are they? Don’t post a video for middle-aged people on TikTok. If you’re trying to raise awareness among people who don’t know you yet, you can’t expect them to see a video on your website or social channel, because by definition, they don’t follow you yet.
And finally, if you know the who and the where, ask what your audience prefers. What images and phrases will they connect with? Make sure you’re using those for your video title, description, thumbnail image, and first 8 seconds of your video. They won’t click and watch if they can’t relate to it.
