↡ Two Squirrels 7b+ ↡
I managed to make the most of a cold snap earlier this year to climb Two Squirrels, a small boulder with some excellent movement.
Good friction felt essential as I moved along the sloping lip. The crimp in the groove is positive, but the slopers that come before and after are reliant on texture. In fact, I lost most of the skin on my palms in this session, and it took a week to grow it back! It all felt worth it though, as Two Squirrels was one of the top items on my Winter to-do list.
As usual on hard climbs, it felt like pulling a rabbit of the hat when I managed to link together all the moves from the start, having struggled just to link the final two or three moves. Once i'd found the most efficient beta, I tried to show patience and would rest five or six minutes between attempts.
