Vietnamese pork stir fry using pork belly. It's salty, sweet, tender and delicious. Serve with plenty of rice!
Ingredients:
1 pound pork belly
Black pepper
5 Tablespoons brown sugar, divided
3 Tablespoons fish sauce
3 Tablespoons soy sauce
1 Tablespoon cooking oil
2 cups hot water
Plenty of cooked rice
Green onions sliced for garnish
In a large bowl combine the cubed pork with black pepper, two tablespoons brown sugar, three tablespoons fish sauce and three tablespoons soy sauce.
In frying pan over medium low heat, cook one tablespoon oil with 3 tablespoons brown sugar until it starts to turn dark.
Add your bowl of pork to the pan and turn up heat to medium.
Cook for 10 to 15 minutes to reduce sauce.
When reduced, add two cups hot water.
Cook for 15 minutes with lid on pan.
Remove lid and cook until sauce is reduced to your liking.
Serve immediately with plenty of cooked rice and enjoy!
