I don't normally upload botched or "behind-the-scenes" style videos, but figured why not. This video came out so bad it otherwise wouldn't have been uploaded.
Located at the Madison Township Fire and EMS station in South Charleston (Ohio), this siren was installed by WSS in 2013 with grant money to replace a Model 7.
In Clark County, jurisdictions that have sirens control their own systems, so testing times vary from one community to the next.
South Charleston and Madison Township test their siren on the First Wednesday of the month at 6 PM, weather-permitting. This is the only siren in the Village of South Charleston, as well as the only one in the entirety of Madison Township. While that may seem sort of underwhelming coverage-wise, the Village of South Charleston is the most populated area within the township, so it makes sense to place the siren here.
Hopefully at some point this summer, I can return for a more "proper" recording of this one in better weather, but for now it'll have to do. With limited time in the summer remaining already, who knows. Enjoy!
