In this video, I review The Name of the Rose (1986), now available in a stunning Limited Edition 4K UHD & Blu-ray from Second Sight Films. Directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud and starring Sean Connery, Christian Slater, F. Murray Abraham, and Ron Perlman, this atmospheric adaptation of Umberto Eco's celebrated novel blends murder mystery, historical drama and philosophical intrigue into one of the finest literary adaptations ever made. For me, it's an easy 5/5 and one of the greatest medieval thrillers ever put to film. The new Second Sight edition features a Dolby Vision presentation alongside a wealth of newly produced extras and collector's packaging.
