Terrain Following Mission using a LIDAR (PulsedLight3d LIDAR Lite 40m) at a skihill in Nagano Japan. The development of this feature was sponsored by Gateway Geospacial.
Copter-3.4-dev (development version, not released at the time this video was made)
Primary issue found is that the vehicle bounces up and down when the terrain becomes very steep probably because the filtering of the sonar data is at too low a frequency (0.25hz)
Vehicle did not complete the mission because it hit the 100m altitude fence and triggered RTL.
