Subnautica 2 already has a massive Early Access map, but in this video I explore the unfinished area north of the normal playable zone with the fog turned off using admin commands, giving us a much clearer look at the hidden terrain, new objects, unfinished biome layout, and possible future map expansion currently being developed beyond the edge of the current Subnautica 2 world. These changes were added with EA Patch 1.1.
This northern area appears to be part of the upcoming Scorpius Trenches biome, or at least an early unfinished version of it. The area looks enormous, potentially as wide as the original playable map from the initial Subnautica 2 Early Access launch, while also appearing deeper and stretching farther toward the World Tree than the original Early Access area. With the fog disabled, you can actually see the scale of the terrain, the distant structures, and the way this new zone may connect into the rest of the map.
One of the most interesting things visible in the distance is a strange spiny tree-like structure surrounded by small green and blue crystal flower-like objects. The whole area has a very alien, unfinished, deep-biome look, and it appears to connect toward the ravine between the lava or hot zone and the other side of the map with the alien ruins. In that ravine area, there are signs of tar or caustic material leaking downward like a dark waterfall, almost like the biome is being shaped around toxic runoff, geothermal activity, and alien terrain.
There is also evidence of huge disc-like structures, new rock formations, changed terrain, new environmental objects, and early layout work that suggests the developers are beginning to build out the look and shape of the next major Subnautica 2 zone. None of this looks finished yet, but it gives us a very interesting first look at how the world may expand in future Early Access updates.
This video is not a normal finished-biome tour. This is an unfinished map exploration using fog-off admin commands to look at terrain and objects outside the current intended playable area. Things may change, move, get removed, or be completely rebuilt before this area is officially released. But if you are curious about the future of Subnautica 2, the Scorpius Trenches, the northern map expansion, the World Tree direction, new deep biomes, hidden terrain, leaked map changes, unfinished objects, possible new rocks, tar waterfalls, crystal flowers, and massive future creatures, this video shows what can currently be seen.
There is also supposedly potential for another huge creature connected to this new region, possibly a massive electrical eel-like creature. If that ends up being tied to the Scorpius Trenches, this could become one of the most dangerous and visually interesting areas in Subnautica 2.
Thanks for watching.
