❌ One mistake I see all the time when watching clients style their curls… they rely completely on the brush.
When you brush through your hair, the ridges group hairs together and start forming curl clumps.
And a lot of people stop right there.
But sometimes the brush groups hairs that don’t naturally curl together.
That creates clumps that are too large for your pattern, which can stretch your curls and reduce your volume.
🤚🏼 The step most people skip is using your hands.
After the hair falls out of the brush, separate any large clumps before you scrunch.
You can adjust curl direction, break up sections, or finger coil pieces that need help forming.
You can also prevent over-clumping by brushing smaller sections or using less tension.
✔️ Brushes start the curl structure.
✔️ Your hands finish it.
