Are you styling for the right finish type?

Soft finish and rough finish hair has different product needs — and most people don't realize they've been styling for the wrong one.
In this split test I used the exact same technique on both sides of my hair but completely different product lineups. The only thing that changed was two products at the prep and gel step.
Soft finish side: Living Proof Leave-In Conditioning Spray + Curlsmith Fragrance-Free Strong Hold Gel — lightweight prep, low moisture, texturizing gel that adds the friction soft finish hair needs to hold its shape.
Rough finish side: Curlsmith Miracle Shield + Ouidad Advanced Climate Control — a bit more creamy at prep, then a moisturizing high slip gel that keeps rough finish hair flexible without weighing it down.
Same technique. Two products swapped. Both routines are examples of a balanced moisture and hold routine — which is exactly why they last.
