Not everyone needs a curl cream. They often overlap with what your gel is already doing, and they can soften your hold.
Here is how to find out if yours is worth keeping.
Next wash day, use your gel alone and change nothing else. Right after you diffuse, does your hair feel brittle, like it could break? Or is it frizzy but still soft?
Soft means you have a hold problem, not a dryness problem.
Then keep watching it. End of day and into day two is where real dryness shows up, even when your hair felt fine after diffusing.
The wash after that, add your curl cream back in and run the same two checks.
