Hiding on the block is doing nothing! I poke out, and still no one comes. I blast down the side, getting a glancing hit, but still nothing. But maybe I'm tempting someone, rather than being tempted myself. The Luna Blaster makes a move, and I anticipate it. Nice! I then spot the Wellstring ahead of me and close in for a second splat, only to be easily surprised by the Inkbrush. That tends to happen. I return to see a dropped power clam and move to reclaim it. That makes me a target, which would be fine if it was a one-vs-one, or I could hit my shots, but neither is true. So it goes.

We're losing turf, if not points, so I sit back and defend for a while. Not that there's much to defend from, but I gain more turf. I kinda sneak up a bit and splat the Inkbrush by accident, which is good, but have to run from a Hammer. That puts me in a good flanking position, but I whiff my shots and get caught by the Wellstring/Luna Blaster combo. Still our turf control is receding, and now the yellow team are attacking. I get a decent splat on the Luna Blaster, but not before they make their throw that breaks our barrier. At least the one power clam is all that hits our basket.

I ink more turf on my return, before running from a Killer Wail targeting a squidmate. The Bamboozler chases me down the flank, but rather than battle them I instead make a dash forwards, along a handily left Inkbrush trail. I get to the basket, where I call for anyone to super-jump to me, but they are splatted or otherwise engaged. Never mind, back looking for clams, or splatting the Bamboozler who gave up the chase, and the Inkbrush not looking behind them. Now maybe we can push. I get on to the hut, don't quite splat the Luna Blaster, and get chased off the hut by the Bamboozler, where the Wellstring finishes me off. It wasn't much of a push.

I spot the Wellstring sneaking down the flank and turn them away, and keep pressing forwards, which I think is going well until our barrier is broken again. Still, it's just the one power clam again, so I keep a forward presence, and hop back on the hut, which is maybe diversion enough for a squidmate to score. Nice! This time I splat the Bamboozler who comes to meet me, but I don't see the Splat Bomb at my squiddy feet, and we only manage the one power clam in to the yellow basket. It's a start, though.

I return to chase the Wellstring and somehow splat the Luna Blaster instead, before popping up just where the Bamboozler didn't want me. A Hammer appears but doesn't chase me, thankfully, but then the dreaded sound of the clock ticking down the final ten seconds hits my ears. We're losing, I don't have a power clam, and time is running out. A power clam has been dropped ahead, so I go that way, and recover it from another squidmate splatted trying to pick it up. It felt with their splatting, though, leaving me out of action. Never mind, I simply throw it back up and hope it gets collected. Which it does!

I don't think my power clam is scored, but another one breaks the barrier, and the one I threw serves to distract the yellow team from my little clams. Or maybe the Hammer just needed to pause because of their big turning radius. At this point, we just need one clam to win, and I have six. I also worked out in a previous battle that I can throw clams from behind the fence and hit the basket. So while the yellow team pepper me with shots, I launch a clam from afar, and secure the victory. Woomy!
