What's up Geekly Goods fam! 🤯 Spider-Man: Brand New Day just made history, pulling in roughly $72 million in Thursday preview screenings, officially breaking the all-time preview record previously held by Avengers: Endgame.
To put that into perspective, Endgame set that previous record with $60 million in Thursday previews back in 2019, on its way to the biggest domestic opening weekend of all time at $357 million. Brand New Day hasn't surpassed that overall opening weekend record yet, but with previews this strong, it's currently projected to open somewhere between $260 and $280 million domestically, which would make it one of the biggest openings in box office history, trailing only Endgame itself.
The reception has been incredible across the board too. Audiences are giving this movie a 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and critics aren't far behind at 91%, which means all four of Tom Holland's solo Spider-Man films are now sitting above 90%. Spider-Man is absolutely dominating right now, and honestly, it does not feel like this momentum is slowing down anytime soon.
