What's up Geekly Goods fam! 👀 Check out this first look at Clay, a brand new original film from Walt Disney Animation Studios, officially revealed at D23.
The film stars Kieran Culkin, fresh off his Oscar win for A Real Pain, voicing Flip, a reluctant mentor who's unwillingly chosen during an annual ritual to look after a newborn, impressionable ball of clay named Mushy. Disney Animation chief Jared Bush explained the concept as a fun twist on the studio's long history of wise mentor characters like Merlin or Phil from Hercules, this time asking what happens if that mentor is actually terrible at the job. The unlikely pair ends up swept into a chaotic, funny, and ultimately life-changing adventure through a fantastical forest. It's directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn, who also helmed Wish and is currently working on Hexed.
I absolutely love the color palette shown in this concept art, it looks incredibly vibrant. Clay arrives in theaters November 2028.
