We set off for a few days in the Lake District with my Maltese Dog, and the first stop was Wasdale National Trust campsite. We set up ready for an icy sub zero camp preparing for the ascent of Scafell Pike the following morning. We set off carefully and made our way up to the snow line using hiking poles to hike through the brutal black ice and snow. As we ascended the icy winds picked up and after meeting a woman from Wasdale Mountain Rescue, had to decide whether we would push on to the summit.
