Just rebiased this sweet sounding Sansui AU-555A from 1971. 25 watts per channel.
This came with a bunch of other equipment recently acquired from a friend I work with who lives in Detroit.
Has the original receipt, instruction manual, and warranty card with matching serial numbers.
A lot of people say this amplifier sounds like tube equipment. I tend to agree that it has a very warm analog sound to it.  And it feels like I’m listening to a Sansui 771 or 881. It’s only 25 watts per channel but packs an incredible punch.
Cleaned all the controls and such however it really didn’t need it. Bias was just slightly off. Appears to be a very low hour unit.
The AU-555A real interesting piece to have in the collection for sure, it’s officially my oldest piece, next to my Harmon Karmon 150+ from 1972.
