Ruth Eckerd Hall has been acting tyrannically since they have had the contract with the City of Clearwater to run events on 35 days out of the year, at the park's just built Coachman Park amphitheater, which is called the BayCare Sound.
This video shows that at about 9:45AM, on May 10, 2025, Ruth Eckerd Hall employees have unlawfully closed the gates to this part of the Coachman Park. The gates, per the contract must remain open until 3hrs before the event begins. The event begins at 6pm, which means the gates can be closed at 3pm.
Since REH is not operating within the bounds of the contract, REH is operating in bad faith and has breached its contract, which makes the contract void. It is the City of Clearwater's Board of Commissioner's job to address these violations of contract and acts of bad faith. The BC needs to cancel REH's contract and hire another to do it.
REH hates the people they work for. They work for the people of Clearwater. This tyrannic hatred likely comes from their position as a monopoly within Clearwater relating to big musical events. I guarantee you that there are plenty of locals who could do a job equal to, if not substantially better than that of REH. The City needs to take action and resolve this problem. One of the problems is that the issues should be able to be raised during public comment at city commission meetings, but the mayor is refusing to allow public comment, which gives the impression the Board of Commissioners is trying to hide something, or is in on the corruption.
