When I was in jail, I was told that the charges were being dropped and that I'd be released after they had been removed. When I looked on the docket, the prosecutor's name had been striked through, which means the case had been closed. I called to confirm and was told that they were only going to prosecute if I took them to court. Officcer Braniff came up to me almost two months after the arrest and asked what was happening with the case. I suggested the likelihood that I was going ot sue. A couple days later, the prosecution filed a Misdemeanor Information (ie. filed the case).
