Following on from my £10 parkrun video that described the concept in detail, brought you shopping with us, and contained Poppy's YouTube filming debut, I am happy to bring you the stunning parkrun that is Castlewellan parkrun in County Down, Northern Ireland.
I picked this parkrun due to its proximity to the Mourne Mountains. During our trip to Ireland 3 years ago we didn't manage to make it to the top of the highest mountain in Ireland, or Northern Ireland. I was keen to rectify this so when Rob suggested we join him in Belfast for my birthday then I knew exactly what I wanted to do. A beautiful parkrun followed by a Sunday in the Mourne Mountains! The parkrun itself was wonderful, and I am happy to report that I have now completed my quest to summit the highest mountains in England, Northern Ireland, Wales, and Scotland... Which I reckon is a pretty great birthday gift to myself!
