We've not been too lucky this winter with storms largely hitting the UK towards the end of the week and severe weather affecting parkruns. This weekend was no exception! The only parkruns for miles and miles were Roundhay and York. Both events were understandably large events as people tried to get their parkrun fix in challenging conditions!

As Roundhay didn't confirm if they were definitely on or not then I headed over to York parkrun for my 5th run there. The morning was absolutely stunning and I was so happy to get my parkrun fix on a weekend when I had made peace with possibly missing parkrun if all nearby events were cancelled.

I can't thank the volunteers enough! Over 40 people were involved in getting this parkrun sorted for this icy event... Which just so happened to be their 13th birthday! Happy birthday York parkrun - I can't believe it has been 13 years since I first ran here at their inaugural event.
