Christmas Day parkrun is always a special one. The best possible way to start Christmas Day and this year it felt like we'd levelled up as we ran at the incredible Holyrood parkrun. This parkrun is unbelievable! Even the walk from the car park to the start line made me happy we'd visited! A must visit... Add it to your list as an iconic parkrun destination. It is entirely on tarmac so extremely accessible but due to the nature of the course then the views and surroundings are unreal. Plus... running on an ancient volcano is pretty cool.
I'm going to put it out there that this might be the best big city parkrun there is... If anywhere can rival it then please post in the comments as I would love to know!
It was exciting to be part of the record attendance at Holyrood, and as the team said on the day, this course is great for big numbers. Holyrood parkrun could easily handle over 1,000 parkrunners which is a great position to be in as some courses do struggle. I hope it comes across on this video how fantastic this parkrun is... If not then I encourage you to visit and see for yourself!
