...This one will get ya bingo wings flapping guys. The fire thong or in this case the reverse fire thong.

...I tried the other day but the rattan didn't hold out. Now armed with some fresh rattan & a  split stick hearth of Malayan cherry I set to again.

...for me this is the most physically demanding of the friction fire techniques.  Which ever way you try it but for me I find pulling down easier than pulling up.

...This time it took sixth or seventh attempts with this set. The toggle handle kept breaking but eventually with a now shortened thong I eventually squeezed an ember from it
