And a 3er with the regulars to close out the night!

On many other Germany configs, i would pay $4 for the 03 plant in 3P. This one offered fine options for everyone, so i'd much rather have the early money from 08. Coal being so much cheaper for it in 3P helps a lot!

It's also nice when you stick with 08 and get bottom in the turn order. Was surprised nobody else bought 15 in front of me but didn't complain; it at least breaks even when used instead of 08 for one turn. One 18 came onto the market, though, i already had my gameplan in mind...

As i mention in my articles, 16 + 18 and 15 + 18 are some of the better Step 1 plant combos you can get. They're functionally equivalent to the 25 or 26, but with much better turn order. Luckily i was always able to run the 15, and coal was not cheap. A key decision involved the 21 plant, which was obviously necessary for Selas. Even though it was probably worth over $40 given the gap between oil and coal, i passed before then because i wanted Selas to have the higher-numbered plant. This assured i would get the first build in Step 2, and you'll see how i take advantage of that!

This was also the most i've paid for the 26 on video, and i was willing to go up to $75-80 for it. With my money i knew Step 3 would only last 2 turns at most, so i badly needed the capacity.

The Step 3 auction brought another key decision point with the 46. It was one of the best plants in a bad Step 3 deck, and the only 7-capacity plant to boot. Once i knew i wouldn't be able to end the game with it, though, i gave it up. My thinking was that i'd rather make money and prepare to end the game on the following turn, and the 30 would be perfect for that. 30 was probably the second-best plant left in the game at that point (only behind 50), and i figured it would go a good bit cheaper than 46. Selas didn't disappoint me on that front, and it left me with a surprising opportunity...

Really, though, the 15 + 18 duo was the star of this show. Now you see why i talk about plant combos so much!
