Link's Journal:
Day 3

Luckily, what little skill I had was enough to get rid of the monsters on the path. I even helped out one of the soldiers. Although, we did have one small problem. Rats. Zelda hates rats. I had to get rid of them all for her so she'd keep moving.
Eventually, we reached the Tower of Spirits. We saw a stone train there. The sage greeted us. Her name is Anjean. She looks a little strange. Anyway, she can also see Zelda. Apparently she also knew Zelda's ancestor, Tetra, the one who founded this country. Niko would never stop talking about Tetra and the time they first came to this land.
Anjean told us that the reason why Cole needs Zelda's body is because they need it as a vessel for the demon king Malladus. Cole intends to free Malladus. He and Zelda's body are at the top of the Tower of Spirits. We can't get up there now since the tower has been broken and Anjean is working hard to keep it together.
The only thing for me to do is to climb what there is of the Tower of Spirits and find a rail map that'll restore some of the Spirit Tracks. That will help keep Malladus contained. If Malladus is freed, the whole world could be destroyed!
Zelda ended up coming with me to the top of the long staircase. I can't imagine how many there used to be when the tower was whole. As soon as we went inside the room at the top of the stairs, there was an armored monster there and it chased us!
We ran all the way back to Anjean. Anjean told us that it was a phantom and the only way to stop them is to gather Tears of Light. The phantom had moved somewhere else when we reached that room. Zelda scouted ahead and found the Tears of Light. She led me to each one as we avoided the phantom. Once my sword was powered up, I stabbed a phantom in the back. It stopped moving for a second but then it immediately turned around and knocked me back!
I braced myself for the worst when nothing happened. Zelda somehow possessed the phantom. She wasn't sure why or how it happened it just...did. Well, she was excited to be able to properly help me out this time in her new form.
She was super helpful. She distracted the other phantoms while I snuck around to get to other areas of this floor. It was kinda fun. It almost felt like a game instead of a battle for our lives.
Eventually we reached the end of this floor and found the rail map! It's glowing. Zelda thinks she heard a really loud noise outside. I wonder if that's the Spirit Tracks coming back.
