Day 4
A sandstorm was blowing over the desert, so I found shelter in a nearby cave. There was an old man in the cave named Aginah. He's Sahasrahla's brother. I asked him what he knew about the Desert Palace. Aginah said that the palace is home to all kinds of treasures, but many are cursed. However, it is said that you can gain great strength by going through it.
Aginah also told me that the palace had multiple entrances. He is unsure where the Pendant of Wisdom rests. He asked me why I sought the pendants and I told him everything. Aginah said he felt the darkness in the air. He also said that if I don't stop Agahnim soon, things will get even worse.
I asked him about the stone slab in front of the Desert Palace and he told me the same thing Ava did. It's written in ancient Hylian and the Book of Mudora can translate it. He was delighted to see that I had it.
When the storm died down, Aginah guided me to the Desert Palace. He can only come as near as the entrance. I approached the stone slab and began to translate with the Book of Mudora. The slab said for me to make my wish known and the way will be open. I wished for the way forward so that I may win the Pendant of Wisdom.
The statue in front of me moved to the side revealing a tall staircase. The Desert Palace, like the Eastern Palace, had all kinds of monsters. Many were hiding in the sand. I got jumped by a few of them, but I managed to fend them off.
As I explored, I found a set of gloves. There was an inscription near them that said "great strength lies in these hands." While I recalled Aginah's warning about the treasure being cursed, I also remembered him saying that I could gain great strength. I took the gloves and put them on. I didn't feel different and the Pendant of Courage didn't react in any way to anything relating to dark magic. When I held my sword in my hand, it felt lighter. This must be the great strength Aginah was talking about!
I found an exit to the palace that led to an entrance embedded in a rock wall. The Pendant of Courage was pulsing. The Pendant of Wisdom must be near. Inside this new part of the palace, I found three horrifying monsters! I had seen only pictures of these creatures in the books at the library while I was searching for answers on the Desert Palace. Lanmolas. They didn't like being cut by my sword, but they especially didn't like the ice from the ice rod. Since they are creatures of the desert, they can't stand the intense cold.
It took time as they constantly burrowed underground, but I destroyed each one of them. The Pendant of Wisdom revealed itself in the sand. It was a pretty blue color. When I put it on, the Pendant of Courage reacted to it. Suddenly, a vision flashed before my eyes. There was a blue shimmer surrounded by tons of rocks. It rested next to a massive tower.
I told Aginah about my vision when I left the Desert Palace. He said that I must have seen the Tower of Hera. He doesn't know what the blue shimmer means though. I remembered Sahasrahla telling me that the Pendant of Power was inside the Tower of Hera. I must set out for Death Mountain soon.
