Celebrating the excellence and milestones of the country’s scholars, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graces the 58th Commencement Exercises of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on August 27, 2026.
During the event, President Marcos Jr. is conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws, Honoris Causa, in recognition of his efforts to advance economic development, improve access to education, strengthen public health services, and promote social equity. The conferment also highlights the President’s commitment to education as a key pillar of nation-building, further demonstrated by the construction of the PLM Allied Health Sciences Building, a significant initiative that will benefit students and the people of the City of Manila.
The President likewise receives a memento from the University, a miniature replica of PLM’s seated statue of Dr. Jose Rizal.
This year’s commencement exercises carry the theme, ‘Mga Makabagong Pantas Taglay ang Karunungan Tungo sa Kadakilaan at Kaunlaran.’
