“Wherever your journey may take you, may the Port of Benoni always remain a gateway that welcomes you home, opens new opportunities, and does so for generations to come,” said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during the inauguration of the Benoni Port Light Craft Landing Station at the Port of Benoni in the Municipality of Mahinog, Camiguin on July 13, 2026.
In his speech, President Marcos Jr. underscored the importance of modern, efficient port infrastructure to sustain Camiguin’s growing tourism industry and support the movement of people, goods and essential services. He noted that rising visitor arrivals have created greater opportunities for the Province while also increasing demand on the Port of Benoni, particularly during peak travel seasons.
The President said the government is addressing challenges by eliminating bottlenecks at transport hubs and modernizing airports and seaports nationwide. He added that the new Port Operations Building and Light Craft Landing Station will improve the passenger experience, enhance port operations, curb illegal ticket-fixing, and provide fishermen with a safer, more secure docking facility, while strengthening Camiguin’s connectivity with mainland Mindanao and Bohol.
