NuTone Hacienda 52" ceiling fan in antique brass. This is another fan that I found in the trash during Cleanup Week 2024; one of the early finds that really set the year off strong. Overall I'd say it's in pretty good shape, and cleaned up well. It seems like NuTone's finishes of this period really only hold up well if they're in the absolute most optimal indoor conditions. This one seems to have seen some moisture or dampness of some form that left the upper housing portion in less than ideal condition. The rest is pretty good, though, after I degreased and removed all the typical crumbling rubber gaskets and parts that make things loose. Only other major flaw is a slight crack in one blade arm, which I think was my fault while trying to get the brackets bent back, though it may have already started before I began adjusting. These brackets have an incredibly weak point right where the "badge" portion meets the actual arm part, and almost any undue stress is sure to start a crack. Thankfully it does not immediately go to a full break if it's not full-on force, and I was able to save this one from being worse. I decided to reinforce the area with a sort of metal bonding compound, just to attempt some stress relief and hopefully prevent further damage. It may do nothing, but was worth the try in my opinion. Performance is typical NuTone meh, although the airflow out of these is better than you'd think for the speed because of the decent pitch. Overall runs fine. Bearings have a slight rumble and it's not the quietest-running motor out there. Originally came with a 12" downrod. I didn't have any double-thread shorter ones to use the original ball system with the nut, so I had to fashion a different ball that would also safely work with the recalled mounting system. This one does have the recall ring with it, which I was thrilled about so I wouldn't have to figure out how to make it work safely otherwise.
