in which alexandra wrote a love song about everyone's least favourite month
lyrics:
i've a november heart
colours on my surface, and frost beneath
i've a november heart
and a liminal state of mind
i could freeze or i could shine
i'm different overnight
you can't predict my weather
sometimes i'm just too cold to touch
but in the right light, i'm beautiful
i've a november heart
things die when they're around me
colours fade and snow is only waiting
i've a november heart
come to me in a sweater
strip it off in my sun
don't expect the warmth to last long
but in the right light, i'm beautiful
whiskey sunlight pours into sepia afternoons
i make the best of the time i've got with you (x4)
i've a november heart
and you're spring through and through
always looking for something new
but come inside, take off your coat
i can be the fog on your windows
i've a november heart
i'm no one's favourite month
but in the right light, i'm still beautiful
---
this was written in my head on many walks home after work throughout this month. i had a fancy mic for this video, which was cool! still figuring out how to use it, so hopefully i'll have some snazzy audio in future vlogs and stuff, even when i'm just speaking
fun fact: took a lot of lines and sections of this song in and out throughout trying to write it, and the day i recorded this, i realized i'd accidentally removed one of my favourite lines "i'm no one's favourite month", so i sandwiched it in at the end. hey, no one said this was a cohesive work of art
apparently sepia is pronounced seep-ee-uh? sounds dumb to me

give this video a thumbs up if you can relate to the lyrics, or if you just like november!
