Hina Kagiyama (yama) is the stage 2 boss of the game Mountain of Faith, the 10th instalment of the Touhou Project. Said project is a danmaku game where you go around as one of two weird girls beating even weirder girls. The creator, ZUN, is, however, not considered weird. Weird.
I'm fairly neutral about Hina. She's not one of my favorite characters but I don't particularly dislike her. She's at least more interesting and well known than the Aki sisters. Her ability consists of being able to collect and probably manipulate curses, too lazy to actually check. I guess I imagine her as a very motherly and tender goddess. In fact, in one of my favorite doujin about her, "A Deep, Deep Puddle" by Chronolog, portrays her like this towards humans. She is treated by Suwako as a child, which is kind of cute. Hmmm, Hina X Suwako... BTW, the opening image is from said doujin.
Too bad the most prominent doujins about her, the ones made by Winter Scenery, portrays her as an ax crazy sociopath. At least they don't portray Cirno THAT dumb.
Hina might not be in the same level as Kanako and Suwako in terms of power (she's definitely not), but she's no pushover. She has one of the most infamous spells in the Touhou series, relatively speaking since she's still a stage 2 boss. Her fight keeps you on your toe and requires good reflexes and good analysis of space since some of her attacks come from quite a number of directions at the same time. Still, a second stage boss is a second stage boss unless you're Kogasa or Parsee. At least her stage is practically streaming. Good old streaming *twitch*
Oh well, I really haven't seen nor remember that many doujins dealing directly with Hina. I'm sure she'll be a fairly interesting character to explore.
I'm truly running out of ideas of what to write in these descriptions.
