A video of me photographing the two (former) Devas of the mountain, Yuugi Hoshiguma and Suika Ibuki.
Yuugi and Suika (mmm, watermelons) are the Scene 6 bosses of the game Double Spoiler, the 12.5th installment of the Touhou Project and sequel to Shoot the Bullet. The Touhou Project is a danmaku shooter series composed by the drunken master of the East, ZUN. HEY ZUN, there you have it, your next title for a Touhou game.
Let us start with something: this video marks the sporadic start of my first video recorded using the EVGA GeForce 9800 gtx+ video card and the first video rendered in 60fps. Doesn't the game already runs at 60fps? Yes, yes it does, I think. Maybe ZUN is lying. Whatever is the truth, for some reason when you record with Fraps and render with Vegas, the videos are in 30fps. I don't know the logistic behind this wizardry, but whatever. I feel this video looks smoother and overall nicer than the other vids, recorded at 30fps, even if Fraps says the contrary. Maybe I'm doubling the frames and it is actually running at 120 or 90fps. Case being, it looks nicer... but at a cost.
These are:
1) Longer rendering time. I will only render at 60fps when I think the video deserves it (like Scene 8 & 9)
2) Space. This practically doubles the size of videos. This video is a pretty decent size (400~MB). However, for some ungodly reason, Scene 8 & 9 are 800~ wooping megabytes. So yeah.
3)Having no reason three is bad luck.
And when I finally get around doing RKS, I NEED to use 60fps. No way around it. Game has 1frame animations =o
About the character: Two drunken oni. Yuugi is the big one, Suika the little one. Yuugi uses curvy lasers; Suika's spellcards are AMAZING and BUCKETS of FUN. Yuugi's not. Not really much to say. Other than SUIKA, I WUB YOU. Yuugi, I wub you as much as I can wub Gensokyo's manliest woman, which makes you peculiar, in a good way, but not very wubable. Also, most good pics of them feature them facing against each other with psychotic smiles... so yeah.
As for the songs: The first song is a placeholder. The second song is the main dish. Hardcore fans will instantly recognize it, since is one of the most well known arranges of Oriental Memory of Forgathering Dream. Hmm... I still think this and Broken Moon and the other forgathering song are the same thing, definitely interchangeable. And I still think they are Gensokyo's theme. Actually the reason I like to think of them as Gensokyo's theme rather than Suika is not only IaMP's general tone. No, even more, is mainly because of the reason that makes this song one of the most famous Touhou arranges out there. That brings delightful memories. :)
Fun fact:
-Suika is the only character to appear in both StB and DS, excluding Aya of course. I smell corruption, probably bribed ZUN with alcohol.
