Not really much more to do here with these bulbs as I'd guess I have about exhausted what can be done with them already regarding toroid formation.
Also not really doing anything special here, just moving the bulbs down into the coil and it just works at the right power level.
This other bulb did end up giving me the toroid but I couldn't get the same visual effects from it. With the neon one the general color of the glow seems to match the color of the toroid that forms. With the other one there is a similar neon color to the general glow, but when forming the toroid it turns a more sharp reddish color.
I really want me a good xenon tube now.. there's some stuff I'd like to try out with this stuff but I don't want to waste the effort on these small bulbs. While they can form legit toroids, the fact that they don't wander around on their own takes away from the effect for me. At least when it comes to the cool visual toy factor.
