I did about a 15 minute run going through the woods, up steps, through grass and rocks etc.. then noticed I wasn't recording. Got it stuck pretty good on a stick or something at one point and took about a minute of hard throttling just to free it. After all that everything was still running nicely so I know this build can handle these tires through all kinds of driving. I just can't crash it head on into anything because the tires stick out further than the front of the body now. On the other hand I should be able to go up or down certain steps because of it.
When running at 60fps 2.7K and all default lighting settings the O3 stabilization has a hard time in the dark. The jitter almost makes it look worse than the non-stabilized goggles view. It also looks like I would need a much more beefy light setup to really see what's around me. The flashlight works but if I don't know where I am I could easily get lost.
So anyway it is actually possible to turn a 1/10 7lb+ truck into a "semi-crawler" that also does over 30 mph. Just need to drop the motor Kv and gearing on a sensored combo. With the stock tires I kind of had to be careful what I was driving over. With the Kaijus I just sort of plow ahead without worrying about it too much.
