Experiment #448: Bottle of Whiskey
(Rated G) This year, I celebrate St. Patty's Day by microwaving a bottle of Jameson Irish whiskey. The results were explosive. No big fireball like I'd hoped for from the alcohol, but the cap did blow off with enough force to dent the top of the microwave. While not as explosive as the beer bottle, I think in some ways this visually was a bit better due to the vapor cloud following the explosion that was a little more impressive than the steam from the exploding beer bottle from 2013. That one still remains my favorite of the St. Patrick's Day specials I've done. Last year's with the magnesium was pretty good, too, from a purely aesthetic standpoint. But one thing I hate about using small microwaves as you can see here is the fact that it's nearly impossible to focus past the mesh without making the whole thing blurry, which is why the only small models I use are ones that I get for free, otherwise I opt for the bigger ones. One advantage this has over the beer episode is better editing, less talking, and no stupid accents. And the boring parts were edited out. Fun fact: Whiskey is not the same thing as whisky. Whisky is scotch and made slightly different from Irish whiskey although both are very similar and use the same ingredients, which is why Irish whiskey and Scotch whisky taste a little bit alike. Both are of course very distinct from bourbon, which is American whiskey. Microwave Me, now in its 16th season is now the second longest continually running microwave show on YouTube, while being filmed in 1080p for the best quality and as always stars Captain Microwave as the show's host and producer, who for this episode uses a 600-watt Proctor-Silex microwave.
