Experiment #499: Marine Flare Gun + "Shotgun Shells"
(Rated PG) Think of this as the unofficial Fourth Of July special. And think of microwaving a flare gun as the poor man's version of two other experiments I'd wanted to do, microwaving ammunition as well as microwaving a loaded gun, and microwaving a fireworks mortar. This had the explosiveness of a mortar and the firepower of a small pistol. It actually took out the microwave when it fired, before the other shell could go off, making it the shortest serving microwave on my show's history at just one episode, but I didn't exactly have high hopes for a junk microwave where I had to use a brick to hold the door shut just so it could even run. Once the gun went off, the light and timer still ran but the microwave itself wasn't even running anymore. This is a little like the road flare experiment except instead of a slow burn over a period of time, it went off all at once with the "good part" lasting only seven seconds. It works out, though, as I need a bigger microwave for my 500th. Microwave Me is currently in its 18th season of production and has now been running on YouTube for over four years, dating back to the old school microwave show period, while being filmed in crystal clear 1080p for the best quality and as always stars Captain Microwave stars as the host and producer, who for this episode uses a junky Hamilton Beach microwave he bought for half-price at Goodwill.
