(Rated PG) Another season done, another clip show. There weren't a lot of episodes to work from here (only 20), but many of them were really fun episodes to film. I especially liked the spinning firework and the can of mosquito repellent. The bottle of Coke was okay, but I was hoping for it to rip apart the microwave. I also used just an excerpt of one of my songs. Also, this might be my last clip show ever unless I get a LOT of requests to keep them going. Sorry but one or two people isn't going to cut it. I put in a lot of work and it's not worth it just for the 2% of you that actually enjoy these. Now as always, I'll answer even more questions that I've been getting.
Q: Why hasn't Elmo been microwaved yet?
A: Sorry, I need a big microwave for that and I'm having a hard time cleaning Ellen. I want to not just do this, but do it right.
Q: Can you microwave something visually impressive?
A: I'll have to see, the bug spray was super dangerous but most of the danger was unseen like the CFL. If I do thermite, it'll have to be a small quantity because I can't risk a catastrophe for YouTube.
Q: Why are you complaining about people stealing your lava lamp video when you're just copying "Is It A Good Idea To Microwave This?" Isn't that hypocrisy on your part?
A: I've gotten this a disturbing number of times and my answer remains the same, even putting aside that I started microwaving long before they did or that our shows are entirely different beyond the superficial, that line of thinking is just stupid. Tell you what, try downloading and reuploading "Too Many Cooks", then when you get a DMCA takedown notice, file a counter-notification with the reason that it's justified because they copied MAD TV's "One For The Road" and that you're just doing the exact same thing. Let me know how that turns out. And it's not about the money, either.
Q: Why are you uploading non-microwave videos on your channel?
A: I've been posting non-microwave videos alongside microwave videos for most of the time I've had this channel. In retrospect, I wish I wouldn't have picked the screen name "MicrowaveMeShow" because now I'm being pigeonholed into making microwave videos and similar stuff only, but I can't change my screen name now or nobody would know who the hell they're suddenly subscribed to.
Q: What do you have against sub 4 sub? Isn't it a good thing when small YouTubers support each other?
A: In short, it's spam. Plus none of them even watch each other's videos so if you do this you make a bad name for yourself and you have hundreds or thousands of subscribers that have no interest in your content and treat it like collecting Facebook friends. Sub4sub is why YouTube is de-emphasizing subscriber counts. I'm going to do a rant on this probably sometime within the next week or so.
Q: Ok then, how do you measure a channel's true size?
A: Views. If your most viewed video has more views than mine, then your channel in reality is bigger than mine, regardless of your subscriber count. Same thing if my most viewed video has more views than yours, then my channel is actually bigger than yours.
Q: Why don't you do these at night?
A: Simply put, it's not that easy to do in the spring and summer because it doesn't get dark out until after 9 or 10 PM. But from September through March it's much easier because of how early it gets dark. But there's an additional problem. Snow. So that leaves late summer and autumn as the best times to microwave.
Q: I know you like to top previous seasons every season, so how do you plan on topping yourself again in season 15?
A: I plan on microwaving a microwave and I may also do thermite if the conditions are EXACTLY right, and only a half pound or so.
Q: Any more episode redoes planned?
A: Other than the crayons and calculator, no. Many of my earlier episodes are far too boring to be worth giving an HD remake to.
Q: Are you excited about your lava lamp video having around 150K views so far? Do you hope it hits 200K?
A: While it's cool and all, the video I really want to see take off is the Euler's Disk video. It's not a microwave video but it's the most interesting yet mass-appeal type video I have up on my channel. I predict the Nutella video by year's end will overtake the highlighter video, too, and that the silverware will approach or surpass 100K.
Q: Is your "Doss It Blend?" parody show coming back at all?
A: Possibly. It was only made because I thought "Will It Blend?" was over for good when I created it, it was done as a protest and to carry the torch. But because people like it, and I sort of enjoyed doing it, I might film some new episodes in the next few weeks.
