Experiment #507: Stroopwaffel
A stroopwaffel, Dutch for "syrup waffle" (stroop is a cognate with one version of strap, think "black strap molasses"), is a traditional Dutch snack where a mini-waffle is filled with caramel and syrup. A long time ago, back in season 5 of Microwave Me, someone asked me to microwave a stroopwaffel, I thought it'd be lame but actually it wasn't half bad considering what it was. The waffle boiled and it even smoked. I actually stopped it early because of how much it was boiling and smoking. To say it was a nightmare to get off of the plate is an understatement. For those who wanted to see a new Microwave Me episode, here you go! Hopefully it's just what the doctor ordered for those who have been yearning for a brand new episode of my microwave show. It might be awhile before I can get to finish off season 19 for real, hopefully this episode is a success. It turns out that microwaving a stroopwaffel is actually a surprising idea. If you're looking forward to seeing new stuff microwaved, I'll be microwaving new items as soon as I can, but in the mean time there's the HD remakes of microwaving things I did in seasons 4-5.
